History

The Association of Automobile Engineers (abbreviated AAE) is a non-profit corporate organization founded and operating in accordance with the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, the Federal Law of the Russian Federation "On Non-Profit Organizations" and approved by the Charter.

AAE was established in September 1991. The reasonability of such formation was determined by changes of management structure of decentralized economy of the country in general and automobile industry in particular, when functions of branch institutes which were carrying out centrally scientific and technical promotion and information support of branch specialists were weakened or lost and activity of different level scientific and technical councils and conferences where specialists had an opportunity to communicate with each other was almost terminated.

The initiators of the creation of AAE were well-known specialists in the automotive industry and transport.

In October 1990, a constituent conference was held at which representatives of 30 organizations, including automobile plants, research institutes, higher educational establishment and etc., discussed the Charter of the Association, elected its Board and the President.

On September 25, 1991, the AAE was registered in the USSR Ministry of Justice as an all-Union public organization.

On September 30, 1993, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation re-registered the AAE into an interregional public association (Certificate of Registration No. 1922), and on July 20, 1999 - into an interregional public organization (Certificate No. 1922/3429 of July 20, 1999).

On December 03, 2014, the Conference of the Interregional Public Organization "Association of Automobile Engineers" decided to reorganize the interregional public organization, on the basis of which on June 10, 2015 the Office of the Federal Tax Service for the Moscow Region registered a non-profit corporate organization - the Association of Automobile Engineers, created by reorganization in the form of a transformation of the previously existing interregional public organization.

Being, by virtue of the current legislation of the Russian Federation, the full successor of an interregional public organization, AAE is a current member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (CCI of the Russian Federation) and the European Automobile Engineers Community (EAEC).
